Frequently asked questions

Who is the IMM Convening for?
The convening is for advanced IMM practitioners with 5+ years of experience. Around 70% of participants represent investors (asset managers and asset owners), with the remaining 30% from other groups, such as consultants, nonprofits, and research and education centres.
When and where will the 2027 convening take place?
The convening will take place on 17–18 March 2027 in Madrid. Venue details will be shared once confirmed.
Who is organizing the convening?
The convening is organized by Impact Frontiers, GIIN IRIS+, and the Operating Principles for Impact Management (OPIM), and hosted in Madrid by COFIDES.
What is the registration process?
Pre-registration is open now and closes at the end of November. Pre-registration is required for anyone who plans to attend, but does not guarantee a place. The organizing committee reviews pre-registrations on a rolling basis against the selection criteria. By the end of December, you will receive an email with one of three outcomes: confirmed, waitlisted, or unable to accommodate. If confirmed, you will receive a link to complete full registration and pay the participation fee. Your place is secured only once payment is completed. See the full registration process.
What is the ticket cost?
The standard participation fee is $1,000. A limited number of scholarship tickets are available: qualifying practitioners traveling from the Global South may receive a full scholarship, while qualifying Global North practitioners from nonprofits, emerging or small investment managers (AUM under $25M), and Indigenous or historically or currently marginalized communities may receive a $500 partial-scholarship rate. Priority is given to those who would otherwise be unable to attend.
How many people from my organization can attend?
One person per organization can attend, or two if the organization is a sponsor.
How is the agenda developed?
The agenda is shaped by participants through a combination of a pre-event survey and in-person collaboration. See the Agenda page for more on the co-design process.
Is travel and accommodation included?
No, travel and accommodation are not included. However, we will provide recommendations for hotels and information on visa requirements.
Is there a waitlist if the convening is full?
Yes. If the convening is full, eligible pre-registrants may be placed on the waitlist.
Will sessions be recorded or shared publicly?
Sessions will not be recorded. The convening follows the Chatham House Rule, and public summary notes will be shared without attributing comments to specific participants or organizations.
